QRI5 is an informal reading inventory that provides graded word lists and various passages to assess students from the pre-primer level through high school. I've administered an assessment while working with autistic children in a special education school. I can't recall the name of the assessment I used, but some parts of it remind me of the QRI5. The assessment tested the students in many different areas, and one part of the test required the student to identify both high-frequency and grade level words in a list. I had the child read through various word lists while I marked his accuracy and estimated his reading level.

This particular point was of interest to me since I think that individualized assessment and diagnosis is important to accurately identify a child's learning strengths and deficits. I was also interested to learn about a diagnostic test that assesses students' reading comprehension; I think the QRI5 is a great way to do this.
